Children are celebrated everyday as they make life much more fun and exciting. As 27th May has been officially earmarked to celebrate these jewels, DSIgate went all in to Igbaro Community to engage and rejoice with these bundles of wonders.

This year’s Children’s Day was celebrated with the people in Igbaro Village, Apetere Community. Themed “Kill Malaria”, it was an opportunity to enlighten the community in general on the deadly effects of the malaria parasite and how to prevent it. The children were massively engaged in the outreach program as they were made to feel seen, wanted, cherished, loved and heard. We create an environment and ambiance that fostered their creative expression, delightful engagement and innate enthusiasm. We regard this as one of the ways we can help to reinforce their sense of worthiness and identity.

Activities of the day included medical outreach, first aid application, singing, dancing, games, distribution of relief materials, eating and drinking.

The children’s glee and gladness were unlimited as they tirelessly sang, danced and played with us. The adults also joined in on the fun by turning up for medical check-ups and participating in other social activities.

It was ultimately, a festival of fun and happiness as the DSIgate Team and Volunteers mingled with the entire community to celebrate their hope, strength and future.

Igbaro Community is in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo, Oyo State.
